"I think we played well," junior Jean Cajou said. "We played how we are supposed to and we played our type of basketball."
Cajou contributed a combined 11 points over the two games.
The wins continued the massive turnaround as the team went from a 2-6 record in conference play mid-way through the season to their current eight-game winning streak.
"We started playing together with better defense," Cajou said.
Last Thursday, the team came up with a huge 85-58 demolition of Central Connecticut State. Senior Jeremy Goode led the team with 26 points to go along with his five steals. Fellow senior Kelly Beidler and junior Shawn Atupem contributed 14 points each.
The men followed up with a 74-45 win over twelfth place Bryant University. Goode again led the team in scoring with a 19 point performance and four steals. Atupem put up 18 points to go with his team high eight rebounds.
With only two regular season games remaining, the Mount will be going up against opponents that have also clinched playoff spots including defending champion Robert Morris.
"We're taking it one game at a time," Cajou noted. "We're a different team and we're going to try and keep playing that way."
The Mount will play fifth seeded St. Francis (Pa) on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
