Changes for housing summer students

Although it seems as if this winter will never end, summer is right around the corner.
Many students are thinking about taking summer courses at the Mount. These students should be aware that there have been some changes to the Mount's summer program from years past.
One of these changes is where students will be living. In years past, summer students lived in the apartments on campus. This year, however, the apartments will be refurbished during the summer. As a result, students will be housed in McCaffrey hall in the Terrace. The most pressing question once living arrangements have been made is where students can eat.
"We haven't exactly figured out how we will be serving students," Christopher Weber, director of the Mount's summer office, said. "We still need to talk to Aramark, but students will be able to buy breakfast, lunch and dinner at the Mount."
Another significant change is the cost of living and eating over the summer.
"The total cost for housing and a flex meal plan will be 500 dollars," Weber said. "In years past the total cost for housing had been 50 dollars per session and many students thought this too good to be true. It was. This is a more realistic price that we hope to maintain in the coming years."
A positive change to the Mount's summer program is that there will be more activities on campus for students to attend.
Every Wednesday night there will be a different live jazz band that will play at Founders' Plaza from 8:30-10:30 p.m. There will also be outdoor movies on the academic quad.
