Spring semester is the busiest time for recruiters as they seek out the best candidates for companies. Job fairs are a great opportunity to show recruiters what you can bring to the table. Attending a job fair may be a little intimidating, so here are some tips to help you navigate a job fair with success:
Prepare a resume and bring a few copies to leave with employers/recruiters
Dress professionally - business attire and keep it simple - avoid excessive perfume/cologne
Research the employers most related to your field of interest for navigation and conversational purposes
Prepare a "30 second commercial" that will give the employer a better understanding of who you are, your interest in the company, and what you have to offer
Be assertive, not aggressive
Don't get discouraged when you leave without a job - if employers are impressed with you, they will contact you after the fair.
