Do you remember that movie Groundhog Day?

It's about a reporter played by Bill Murray who is sent to cover the lame holiday celebrated by lifting a ground hog out of his log and "asking" him if he saw his shadow. The reporter finds himself repeating the same event over and over.

As we're rounding the third week of school, I think if you're like me you're getting settled with habits.

Wake up, classes, nap, club activities, maaaaybe work out if you're up for it? Laundry on Tuesdays, grocery store on Thursdays? Rinse and repeat right?

I've realized this isn't the best thing. Do you really want to look back on your college career longing for those awesome naps you took?

Me neither. It's time to throw my schedule for a loop. Go to that fitness class... then whine to your roommate about how sore you are later. (I recommend Body Pump.. it's painfully awesome.)

I think everyone falls into the habit of doing what they always do. It's much easier.

One could even say that the show, Jersey Shore is ridiculously repetitious, much like the 1993 movie still being replayed on Bravo.

They party every night, get hammered, fight bystanders/girlfriends/whoever gets in their way, sleep off their hangovers and start again the next night. They appreciate reliably doing their weekly (or maybe daily?) GTL, gym, tan then laundry trips. Out of ordinary is frowned upon like "grenades. " Yes, they're entertaining but I doubt you'd want to live that life.

If it's a Saturday night and you're expected to be at the same apartment you always "party" in, why not change it up a little bit? Moving off campus might be a different option.

Having dinner in Frederick might be much more of a "sane" option given the fact that fun is now grounds for being written up with Residence Life.

Go to "Big Slide" or really go nuts and have breakfast for dinner in Patriot when they offer it. Live it up!
