Cities all over the world celebrate every year in the International Pillow Fight day and in Emmitsburg, Mount St. Mary's had one as well this weekend. Students celebrated for Campus Activities Board's philanthropy event of the year on March 29.
This year's philanthropy event was an International Pillow Fight and the money that was raised was donated to Habitat for Humanity.
Christina McLean, the President of CAB and the brain child of the event, discovered it while researching on Google for her seniors honors project.
"Cities worldwide would do it on April 4th [The International Day of the Pillow Fight] and I thought it would be a great idea to do it on campus," McLean said. "This event also helped me kill three birds with one stone. It helped with my Public Relations project, Senior Honors Project, and CAB event."
Despite the treacherous winds and heavy rain, the event had brought smiling faces and also a good time to those who went.
"More people went out than expected. The weather was good while setting up. Then the event started, and the first half hour was a complete downpour. The sun eventually came back out for a good half hour, and the people that were pillow fighting at that time had a good time," McLean said.
"I thought the pillow fight was somewhat successful even though there was rain. I still had fun making s'mores," junior Jeff Bocar said.
