Margot & the Nuclear So and So's release sophomore album

After a close to three year hiatus, the indie Indianapolis group Margot & the Nuclear So and So's, finally released their sophomore album(s) on Oct. 7, 2008.
The band's lengthy sabbatical left them with far too many songs to choose from and a hasty record label, resulting in continually pushed back album release date. Consequently, the highly anticipated album became a fortunate double release for the So and So's.
"Not Animal" is 12-tracks long, released digitally and in full-length CD on Epic/Sony BMG records. The second half, "Animal," which is sold separately, also features 12-tracks and is only available on vinyl.
The albums both include new material, but share only five common songs. Each also features a couple re-recorded versions of songs that were previously released on "The Daytrotter Sessions EP" (2008). Unfortunately, the only way to attain to the entire collection of songs is by owning a record player (or by streaming it on AOL Spinner for the tech-savvy).
Not too different from the band's debut "The Dust of Retreat" in 2005, "Animal" and "Not Animal" is coffee shop listening for those that are looking for something a little more brooding.
The eclectic eight-member band contains and assortment of instruments including strings, brass, keys, guitars, and a sheet metal. Not to mention a plethora of vocals that sometimes can be deceiving.
Margot is the novelty of singer, songwriter, and front-man Richard Edwards. Far from generic, the So and So's are better described as slow and melodic with an intense orchestral feel.
