Eminem's mother sued

over profits from her book

PONTIAC, Mich. (AP) - Eminem's mother has been sued by a man who alleges he helped her with a book about the Detroit rapper but was cut out of the profits.

Neal Alpert claims in an Oakland County Circuit Court lawsuit filed Monday that Debbie Nelson developed the book while she was under contract with him.

The lawsuit alleges they entered into a contract in 2005 in which he would be her agent and receive 25 percent of the gross profits.

The lawsuit says "My Son Marshall, My Son Eminem" has sold 100,000 copies since its U.K. release last year.

The book is to hit U.S. stores this week.

Rob Lowe, wife pursue

nanny for at least $1M

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Rob Lowe and his wife are suing their former nanny, claiming she told secrets and lies about their family.

The complaint filed Monday in a Los Angeles Superior Court asks for at least $1,000,000 in damages and charges Laura Boyce with violating a confidentiality agreement, defamation and infliction of emotional distress on the former "West Wing" star; his wife, Sheryl; and their two sons.

Boyce was hired to take care of their sons for most of 2007 before she quit in November.

The court papers make no specific reference to what information Boyce passed along, or to whom, only that Boyce had "betrayed their trust and engaged in a scheme to hurt the Lowes by spreading malicious lies" both during and after she served as a nanny.

Washington Post cleans up with 6 Pulitzers, while Bob Dylan wins rock 'n' roll's first prize

NEW YORK (AP) - Like many newspapers, The Washington Post is struggling mightily with falling circulation and advertising revenue.

But cheers erupted Monday in the newsroom when staffers learned the newspaper had hauled in a near-record six Pulitzer Prizes, journalism's top awards.

"This is actually a boost to remind people that we can produce this kind of journalism at any time." said Post Executive Editor Leonard Downie Jr.

In the arts category, Pulitzer winners included Bob Dylan, who received an honorary Pulitzer Prize; Tracy Letts for his dark play, "August: Osage County;" and Junot Diaz, who won the fiction prize for his novel "The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao."
