Secondly, as long as the 3-point line is being extended next year, instead of repainting the floor in Knott Arena, let's just purchase a new one. If you've played basketball on any hardwood floor, you would know that the cement beneath Jim Phelan Court is not only conducive to injuries, but counterproductive to the development of its players. Let's invest in a real floor with some give to it, similar to the one that's in Memorial Gym, or every other arena in the league.
One last word on the benefits for Browntown - there's something in it for you too. Coaches of other sports, you will now get better recruits committing to your program. Fellow students, there will be more of us than ever applying to the Mount, which will raise its standards, polish the reputation of the school and provide opportunities to make more money through the new students (just as has happened with us.)
And faculty members, this certain influx of money from donors and other bandwagon well-wishers may not directly effect your salary, but it could improve the classrooms in which you teach, the offices in which you work and the campus on which the only thing you were worried about in the first place is sharing your knowledge with us, so for that we thank you.
And thank you, men's basketball team, for making life a little easier on the rest of us at 16300 Old Emmitsburg Road.
Here's to hoping for a repeat championship in 2008, and an administration that recognizes the penalty if we fail to spoil the victors.

I am so pleased to have found this article in the school paper. Right on! The first thing I thought about when I heard there is some money coming in for the NCAA appearance was - give Milan a bonus. (Continued…)
