All seniors have been sent an invitation to the Class of 2008 Young Alumni Dinner. This event began in 1976 and continued up until 1995. It was not until last year that the Mount reinstated the tradition. This year's recipients of the Alumni Awards are Father Richard Hilgartner class of '90 and Robert Weed class of '93.

Weed has been a member of the National Alumni Council since the year of his graduation and is now a chairman for the Young Alumni Committee. The National Alumni Council is dedicated to sponsoring activities to keep Mount alumni in touch. Weed has been a Bicentennial Pioneer, an Alumni Student Mentor Program Coordinator and Mentor as well as an active member of the Alumni Weekend Reunion Committee.

Former campus chaplain Fr. Rick is the other award recipient. Fr. Rick was ordained a priest in 1995 by the Archbishop of Baltimore. He has been a pastor and associate pastor at two churches, and has taught part time at the Mount St. Mary's Seminary. Fr. Rick was the chaplain of the Mount from 2005 to 2007. He has been heavily involved in alumni programs ever since his graduation from the Mount.

"This event is really something that more seniors should take seriously and go to," senior Kevin Taylor said. "I know I will be there for Father Rick."

The Alumni Dinner will take place in the seminarian dining room tonight.
