Patriot Hall got a makeover during fall break. Booths, planters, and artificial plants were added.
"More booths were added to make it more comfortable. Also, some planters and artificial plants will add more visual interest to the space," said Howard Williams, Director of Dining Services.
Four years ago, dining services added booths and tables to the Café. They added booths along the Café wall a year ago.
"These changes were very well received by students and others so the University looked at ways to add additional soft seating into Patriot Hall while respecting the fact that it is a multipurpose space," Williams said.
The changes were designed to make the Patriot Hall more appealing for the Mount community.
"Feedback over time has been that everyone loved the space but it felt kind of cold and vast. Patriot Hall will be a more comfortable, attractive space with more smaller-sized tables, but more seats overall to meet university growth," Williams said.
"At our [SGA] meeting, we were told that it is the most seating that Patriot has ever had. Patriot has actually upped its seats to accommodate 90 more people," said junior Liz Mitros, a member of the Student Government Association.
She adds that "the trees are kinda large and block your view of the door but overall, its a cool new look for Patriot."
