Styrofoam alternatives being considered after SGA rejects to-go container proposal

The Environmental Club continues to work with the University Recycling Committee, the Environmental Stewardship and Sustainability Committee and Dining Services to come up with a new proposal that the student body can support.
"It definitely isn't over. I am glad that SGA is willing to work with us to solve the situation but I am scared that we might get stuck in a state of constant bickering," said Kate Zuraitis, secretary of the Environmental Club.
According to Henning, the new proposal being discussed and formulated involves switching the Mount to biodegradable forms of to-go containers.
"The new proposal is centering on the replacement of all non-biodegradable styrofoam containers with new boxes that are biodegradable. The marginal extra cost associated with the environmentally friendly containers would be paid for by the consumer. For a couple of extra cents you can have the convenience you want and also be environmentally responsible," Henning said.
"We are committed to solving this problem but it will take some reflection by the students before they are ready to pass a proposal. We are open to students' opinions and will do our best to accommodate everyone. When we finally do come to a consensus, the main goals of the current proposal will still be achieved," said SGA Secretary Laura Fenaroli.

Here is a quick and easy solution;
Lets start purchasing plastic or cardboard to-go containers.
That is the issue here right? WE want to get trays that are more environment friendly right? So are we thinking up these outrageous thoughtless proposals to make the students do more work, back up lines, force students to eat where they don't want to, make them pay extra for the container etc. (Continued…)

wow, this brings back some great memories! it seems like just yesterday i was watching all of these great shows, and more great shows. this homecoming theme has been so much fun!
