Post also said that the service will help keep laundry rooms better maintained and encourage students to let Residence Life, their RAs, or Physical Plant know when there is a problem, so that it may be dealt with quickly.

The addition of the LaundryView service was a decision made by the Residence Life staff, suggestions from MacGrey and also supported by students through SGA. The Mount is one of the first universities served by MacGrey with this service.

According to a LaundryView Representative, only 75 schools across the country have this new service so far. Nearby schools with this service include: Frostburg, Gettysburg, Franklin and Marshal, and Drexel.

The service was announced last summer to students and was intended to be put into action this fall semester. However, it was delayed due to issues with IT. Many electrical boxes had to be installed in all of the laundry rooms for each of the machines, according to Post.

"There are still a few kinks in the system, such as in the Horning Towers laundry room, where the ventilation is poor, causing problems with the electrical boxes. This problem is being worked on, and new ventilation will be installed soon," Post said.
