Every year hundreds of high school athletes search for an outlet to continue their athletic careers. With accepted students confirming their admission daily, the Mount's sports teams are also filling rosters with scholarship athletes.

Men's lacrosse assistant coach Nick DeFelice says they will be bringing in more than 12 recruits for the 2004-05 seasons.  This includes several college transfers from New York and Maryland.  Jason Dean from Herkimer (N.Y.) Community College and Frank Hopkins and Matt Warfield from Essex Community College in Baltimore should make an impact on the team.  Out of Baltimore area high schools comes Adam Sharretts (St. Paul's), Pat Keeney (Loyola), and Joe Derwent (Glenelg).  Brett Lenzi will be coming from Webster Schroeder High School in New York.

Baseball will be adding to its young team for next year as well.  Four players looking to make an impact are Joe Diserio, Andrew Germuth, Craig Henson, and Josh Vittek.  Diserio (Cardinal Gibbons) plans to help the Mount behind the plate with his hitting and on-base percentage (.509 career).  Germuth (Archbishop Spalding) will be heading to the mound as a side-arm pitcher.  Henson (Boonsboro) will also be pitching after his solid career, where he led his team to win the 2002 State Championships.  Vittek (Liberty) will take pitches as a catcher and work in the outfield.

Women's soccer plans to add several players for the fall season.  Midfielders Kelli Devine (Leonardtown), Jennifer Baker (St. John's), and Alyssa Flora (Linganore) have already signed letters of intent.  Devine helped her team to the Southern Maryland Athletic Conference Championship by leading her team in scoring (46 goals, 38 assists) during her career.  She was selected to the All-Metro team. Baker contributed to the IAAM "B" Division championship during three of her four years.  Flora earned MVP honors from Linganore for her efforts for her first three seasons.  She did not play senior year due to injury.

Men's Basketball will be adding at least four players to their roster next year.  Coming for the 2004-05 campaign are Joseph Gates (Arcata/Calif.), Jason Loughry (Archbishop Spalding), Markus Mitchell (Salem/Va.), and Chris Vann (Gar-Field/Va.).  Gates will help the Mount's inside game with the departure of seniors Atangana and Dodson.  Loughry at 6'11 will also begin the Mount's building inside game as he helped Archbishop Spalding to the MIAA "A" Conference Championship. He also played with phenom Rudy Gay, who participated in the McDonald's All-America game. Mitchell at 6'7 joins high school teammate Antonio Johnson on the Mount's squad.  Vann will look to add bench support for landy Thompson and Chris Sumner at a shooting guard.

The Mount track team, men's soccer, women's basketball, tennis, women's lacrosse, and softball have not yet announced their 2004-05 recruiting class yet.
