On Feb. 19, the Mount will be participating in the Relay for Life, one of the biggest fundraisers for cancer. The relay is a 12-hour walk-a-thon that raises money for the American Cancer Association. Spring semester is the busiest time for recruiters as they seek out the best candidates for companies. Job fairs are a great opportunity to show recruiters what you can bring to the table. Attending a job fair may be a little intimidating, so here are some tips to help you navigate a job fair with success: Prepare a resume and bring a few copies to leave with employers/recruiters Dress professionally - business attire and keep it simple - avoid excessive perfume/cologne Research the employers most related to your field of interest for navigation and conversational purposes Prepare a "30 second commercial" that will give the employer a better understanding of who you are, your interest in the company, and what you have to offer Be assertive, not aggressive Don't get discouraged when you leave without a job - if employers are impressed with you, they will contact you after the fair.… Post the First Comment
