Ground broken for Bicentennial Hall: fourth Bradley first to move in

Ground was broken last week for Bicentennial Hall and with its expected opening in January 2008, Residence Life has decided who will be the first to move in. The women of fourth Bradley, which includes Women in Science housing, will move in first because "Unlike any other space on campus, it [fourth Bradley] is needed for the institution," Dean of Students Mike Post said.… Post the First Comment

Laundryview site in service

Mount Saint Mary's residents can now participate in Laundryview, an online service from MacGrey, the school's laundry service provider. This option allows students to check the status of the laundry room without having to go there. "It's a Saturday morning and I want to get some laundry done, but I don't really feel like going the whole way to the Terrace laundry room, especially if there aren't going to be any machines open," sophomore Adam Kauffman said.… Post the First Comment

Two arrested in cop assault

A 19-year-old female student and her 22-year-old brother were arrested by Frederick County Sheriff's Office on charges of disorderly conduct and assault on a police officer on Sunday. According to a press release from the Frederick County Sheriff's Office, the student "began to strike, kick, and bite" Detective Daniel Romeril after he approached her brother.… Post the First Comment

Housing lottery Web site is official

Designed to be as clear and student-friendly as possible, the new housing selection process' Web site was officially live on Friday, according to Dean of Students Mike Post. Obtaining wireless internet connection in all residence halls and setting up a task force for a new mascot are just two of the items on the SGA's recently approved Top 10 List. Alumni Association to Honor 9/11 Hero, Class of '93 Graduate at upcoming dinner

It is not every day that one hears a story like that of Thomas Sullivan. It has been almost 14 years since his graduation from the Mount, and his life has changed quite a bit since that day in May of 1993. Dancing For Life

Who knew that kicking up your heels could help fight cancer? Lisa Reed, administrative assistant in the Media Center, and her Relay for Life team will sponsor a benefit dance at the American Legion in Thurmont on Saturday, Feb. 24. A minimum $10 donation is required and all proceeds will go to the American Cancer Society.… Post the First Comment

Education department receives grant

The education department recently received a state grant for $118,402 to support professional development in schools. The grant was awarded by the Maryland Highway Education Commission to all institutions with teaching programs, which included Mount St. Mary's University.… Post the First Comment
